Franchise Consultant or Franchise Broker

Franchise Consulting is a field similar to any other consultant who focuses on customer relationships, through which the franchise consultant who charge a fee to a customer in exchange for a particular service. This is how the field of brokerage franchise has traditionally been defined. If a franchisor requires a particular service, whether it was training its franchise agreement, business planning, marketing and sales advice, or any other third party consulting services, they would hire the consultant, the draft a contract and scope of the service, and pay consulting fees.
In recent years, the definition has changed several networks of franchise sales borrowed the term "franchise consulting" or "franchise consultant" to describe the "bag of franchises." Instead of charging a fee, franchise consultant provides services for free and receive compensation if your customer happens to buy a franchise.
My opinion is that this new definition undermines the concept of franchising consultancy as a service. Besides those who are marketing themselves as consultants franchise when the franchise agents essentially amounts to nothing more than a misrepresentation of what they offer.
It's a little naive is described as one thing when you are actually doing something else. This is a topic of much debate in the franchise industry, and unfortunately, as the networks continue to expand the franchise, which could marginalize. I've seen this topic discussed in Linked-In forums, trade shows and radio programs franchise. Although I have not done any survey, yet, I guess I have done, the industry prefers the traditional definition.
Note that there is absolutely nothing wrong with excess stock. Franchise systems are seeking to expand their brands and take advantage of many franchise concept to its relations with various intermediary networks to bring qualified candidates for a fee. No different from residential real estate brokerage or real business, mortgage brokerage or leasing brokerage. A fee is paid for a service performed.
The point here is to accurately describe and define the role. If you are a runner to be compensated through the sale of franchises, you can say you're a franchise broker. And if you are in the field of franchise consulting and providing additional services for a fee, you can call yourself a franchise consultant.
Although I do not foresee that this debate get resolved in the immediate future, as the franchising industry continues to mature, I think we all should call what we really are better. A close associate and fellow agent franchise loves to use the phrase "fransparency". In essence, it's all about full disclosure. If we put more attention to this concept of franchising, the franchise industry in the future should fit better.
